Just bought one last week. Someone elsewhere mentioned his was stainless--- not mine. Mine is steel with chrome plate. It is rather small but in proportion to the bike I think it looks OK. I paid around 45.oo for it if I recall. Putting it on was fairly straight forward but did take more time than the estimated time they (the package)stated to do the project. That could be just me--- i'm slow and precise. I'm happy with it if for no other reason than it opens up more bungee hooking sites. My primary purpose for buying it was to have a place to carry and attach a small 1 gallon gas can for emergency use on Kansas blue highways (few gas stations). If any one has pushed their savage very far, they will appreciate this option very quickly.
